Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God in Zhuravlino

The Orthodox parish in honor of the Intercession of the Mother of God in the village of Zhuravlino was founded in 1999. A building previously belonging to the village council was allocated for the church. Since then, the parish has been gradually reviving.

According to the memories of the locals, before the Great Patriotic War, a majestic church dedicated to the Intercession of the Mother of God stood near the village cemetery. It was built on voluntary donations from benefactors, and the ringing of the bells marked the completion of their good deeds. It was this ringing that gathered the faithful for prayers. Many residents from nearby villages came to services in this beautiful church. However, during the war, it was destroyed like many others. The ditches left from the foundation are still visible at the site where the church stood. Nearby, a spring of clean water flows, which was consecrated in 1999 in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov. This spring continues to attract many people seeking to drink clean water and receive help in their daily needs through the prayers of the holy elder. In 2009, the parish celebrated its tenth anniversary, and during this time, the doors of the church have always been open to all. Orthodox traditions and rituals are not forgotten; on the contrary, they are being revived. Within the walls of the church, prayers are once again being offered by the Orthodox to the Lord Jesus Christ, His Most Pure Mother, and all the saints.
