The church was founded in 1761 with funds from the landowner A.S. Bezobrazov. The parish was large but not wealthy. By 1925, the church ceased its activities and was looted by local residents. The church building was converted into a club. During the Great Patriotic War, workshops were set up in the church, where German prisoners of war worked to restore the village. In the early 1950s, the church building was demolished, and a monument to Lenin was erected in its place, while a new club was built nearby from the bricks of the church.

In May 2001, an Orthodox community was established in the village of Sadovoe, near Kokino. Before the revolution, there was the estate of landowner Martynov, where in 1930 an agricultural technical school and a training farm were organized. Now, the believers have been given the building of the former landowner's granaries, built in the 19th century, to establish a church. It took years and the efforts of the rector and parishioners to transform the dilapidated structure into a beautiful and cozy small church. Currently, work is underway to set up the church house.
