Documents from the Kursk diocese contain indirect references to the existence of the Intercession Church as early as the 18th century. The 1811 census mentions a priest, Fyodor Prokofyevich Prokopov, who was listed as a deacon at this church in the fifth census of 1795.

The wooden church was single-altar, while the stone church built in the early 20th century had three altars: the main altar in the name of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, the southern altar in the name of Saint Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica, and the altar in the name of Seraphim of Sarov. The "Reference Book for 1908" mentions a wooden church built in 1834. The dates regarding the construction of the stone church are contradictory: the clerical record of 1915 states it was built in 1911 "by the efforts of the parishioners," with a wooden roof and a stone bell tower covered with iron; while the clerical record of 1921 indicates the stone building was constructed in 1909.

A church-parish school operated at the church in the village of Alexeyevka, founded in 1913, and was located in a wooden building owned by the church. An annual allocation of 180 rubles was provided for its maintenance from the Rylsk branch of the Diocesan School Council. In 1915, the school had 45 boys and 11 girls enrolled. There were also two zemstvo schools in the parish: one in the village of Alexeyevka, founded in 1899, and another in the village of Gorki in the Putivl district, established in 1913.

In 1922, valuables were confiscated from the church. From 1932, services ceased, the community disbanded, and the church building was used by the collective farm for economic needs for a long time. In 1938, the church building was deemed "unfit for use," and a decision was made to close it in September. Services resumed in 1943.

In the 1970s, the Intercession Church was active. On holidays, it was visited by up to 1,000 parishioners. The Intercession Church in the village of Alexeyevka is included in the "List of Architectural Monuments of Local Significance."
