In 1662, a women's monastery was founded in Belgorod, and in 1717, a chapel with the revered image of the Korsun Mother of God was added, located seven versts from the city in the Log area.

In 1826, a grove owned by landowner Shakhotin was purchased by General Anna Rodionovna Chernysheva and gifted to the monastery. In 1823, a stone church and wooden cells for the nuns were built in the area. In 1866, a warm wooden church was erected in honor of the image of the Unmade Savior, as well as a guesthouse for pilgrims, two fruit orchards were planted, and a bee farm was established.

In the 1920s-1930s, all the buildings of the monastery were destroyed. In 1995, a chapel of the Korsun Icon of the Mother of God was built over the spring in the Monastery Forest. The project was designed by architect V.A. Gurchenko, and the sculptor of the bas-relief icon was A.A. Shishkov. From that year, the tradition of processions to the spring was revived.

On August 1, 1997, a building that previously belonged to one of the municipal services of the city was reconstructed into a church. The architect of the reconstruction was V.Ya. Busygin. The church was consecrated in honor of the Korsun Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
