The church was built in 1856 with funds donated by the daughter of a royal official, Tolstoy. It is constructed from oak logs and has one central chapel.

In the 1930s, the church was closed, but during the German occupation, services resumed. In the 1940s, the bell tower was dismantled, and the building was used as a grain storage facility. In the 1950s, services were conducted again, and they continue to this day.
