This majestic cathedral, the main structure in the architectural complex of the courtyard, is located in the eastern part of the yard, near the central gates.

In 2009, the foundation for the main cathedral was laid, which was reinforced with piles and expanded in 2012. On July 14, 2012, Bishop German (Kamalov) conducted a prayer service for the laying of the cathedral, installed a cross, and laid a marble slab. From 2012 to 2013, a Ukrainian team of Orthodox builders erected the cathedral based on the design by architect V.N. Izhikov. In November 2012, when the cathedral was halfway built, it was visited by Metropolitan Isidor of Ekaterinodar and Kuban, who approved the construction. From 2014 to 2016, interior work was carried out, and in the spring of 2017, the interior decoration of the cathedral was completed.

Architect Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Izhikov chose the Byzantine style for the project, as Orthodoxy originated in Byzantium. The cathedral impresses with its power and strength. It is cross-domed, with a wide blue dome adorned with eight-pointed Bethlehem stars and a gilded Greek cross with a crescent moon, symbolizing imperial power in Byzantium. The walls of the cathedral are one meter thick, with narrow arched windows and massive metal doors with crosses. The plinth and stairs are finished with light natural stone. On the eastern side, there is a massive semicircular apse with an altar and narrow arched windows in two tiers. There is one chapel in the cathedral. The inspiration for the architect was the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople, reduced by four times and simplified. Light enters through 12 windows in the light drum, unlike the 48 in the Hagia Sophia. The diameter of the dome is 8.5 meters, while in the Hagia Sophia it is 32 meters.

The interior decoration of the Annunciation Cathedral is also done in the Byzantine style: mosaics on the floor made of marble and granite, marble panels and window sills, a stone iconostasis with icons painted by Valery Polyakov. In the altar, there is an altar and a sacrificial table made of white marble with a niche for holy relics. Lighting is provided by a beautiful chandelier with icons and lamps, which will slowly rotate during the liturgy, symbolizing God the Creator. A spiral staircase with marble steps leads to the choir. The cathedral features many colorful lamps, and the reliquaries are made in the Byzantine style. They contain relics of over 70 saints, mostly from the early centuries of Christianity. Thus, the cathedral transports us to the atmosphere of ancient Byzantium.

In 2013, even before the construction was completed, an archpastoral liturgy was held in the cathedral, which Metropolitan Isidor served under the Byzantine singing of the monastic choir on the feast of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. After the liturgy, the Bishop consecrated the domes and crosses, which were soon installed.

The construction of the cathedral was overseen by Abbess Neonilla, the construction engineer, and benefactor Georgy (Yuri Evgenievich Dudik). They consulted with the architect and ensured compliance with the project. They also found benefactors for the construction of this unique cathedral for Kuban.

The Annunciation Cathedral was consecrated on July 9, 2017, after the completion of the interior decoration.
