By 1880, three hotels had been built in Yekaterinodar, among which the 'Central' was considered the most prestigious. It was located at the corner of Krasnaya and Gymnaziyskaya streets and was a beautiful two-story building with 24 rooms and retail spaces on the first floor.

However, on November 16, 1901, a fire broke out in the storage of a music store on the first floor. Although the firefighters managed to control the flames, the damage was significant. The building's owners, the Bogarsukov brothers, did not give up and soon restored the hotel, making it even more attractive.

After the renovation, an advertisement appeared in the newspaper inviting visitors to the hotel and its restaurant, where caviar, salmon, and 'Bavaria' beer were offered on Saturdays.

The city continued to grow, and a new three-story hotel appeared at the corner of Krasnaya and Gogolevskaya streets, overshadowing the beauty of the previous buildings. The Bogarsukov brothers then turned to the talented architect Alexander Andreyevich Kozlov, who developed a project for the reconstruction of their building.

Since the original house had stood for many years, doubts arose about the strength of the foundation. Kozlov decided to reinforce the house's frame with steel beams, which he used to complete his artistic vision. A tall decorative parapet was built, and downspouts were laid in the recesses of the I-beams along the facade. The architect adorned the metal structure and topped it with high spires that harmoniously matched the corner turret of the house. The turret was decorated with a bas-relief depicting Apollo playing the lyre, falcons, young maidens, and statesmen listening to the patron of the arts. The restaurant's interior was designed in the Russian style, and the luxurious chandelier and horizontal panels attracted the attention of every visitor.

The building looked light and airy. In the summer of 1910, a newspaper article noted that 'Mr. Bogarsukov's house will become the most architecturally beautiful building.'

The updated hotel had 60 beautifully furnished rooms, costing from one and a half to ten rubles per day. Each room had plumbing, electric lighting, central heating, a bathroom, and an elevator. Guests could enjoy dinner in the restaurant and use the services of a car with a driver.

In 1917, the hotel was handed over to the Kuban Regional Food Committee for the needs of the Bread Army, with a rental payment of 12,000 rubles per year.

After the revolution, in 1925, an explosion of gunpowder occurred in the building of the former 'Central' hotel. There were no casualties, but the wall and corner of the building were damaged. The wall was tiled and painted green. In 1937, the Krasnodar Regional Committee of the VKP(b) was located here.

When the fascists left the city in 1943, they mined the building, but fortunately, they did not manage to blow it up. Thus, the house survived a difficult time.

The building was depicted not only on postcards but also on postal envelopes and is now a decoration of the city, protected by the state as an architectural monument. For a long time, the management of Sberbank of Russia was located in this ancient house. Currently, it houses the 'Central' business center and other organizations.
