In Leontievsky Lane, there is a small estate in eclectic style, formerly owned by the director of the board of the Manufacturing Company "Vikuly Morozov with Sons." This mansion stands on a site where once stood the estate of General-Antechef M. Leontiev, after whom the lane is named. In 1884, architect A. Kaminsky built a beautiful house here for merchant Karataeva. In the early 1890s, it was acquired by Vikula Eliseevich Morozov for his sons Ivan and Eliesey. In 1895, Ivan married Varvara Voronova, a ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre, known for her beauty.

To update the interiors, a young architect Fyodor Shekhtel was invited, who preserved the eclectic external decor created by Kaminsky. The central element of the facade became a mask of an ancient deity, which is pulled by putti by its mustache. From Kaminsky, the grand staircase remained, while Shekhtel decorated the grand rooms in different styles: a wooden dining room, a classical ballroom, and a rocaille drawing room. The study was adorned with paintings by Shishkin and bronze horses, reflecting Ivan Morozov's passion for horse racing. Shekhtel also created a private area and a garden for the children. In 1905, architect A. Erikhson updated the staircase in the Art Nouveau style.

After the revolution, the German embassy was located here, then the Soviet Information Bureau, from where reports were sent during the war. After the war, the building housed the GDR embassy, and during the perestroika years, it was home to the Cuban embassy and a bank, then the All-Union Association "Intourist" and a travel shop.

The mansion has preserved the interiors created by Kaminsky, Shekhtel, and Erikhson. During restorations in 2015 and 2019, special attention was paid to preserving the historical elements of the facade. Brickwork, cornices, pilasters, and decorative reliefs were restored, and the original color of the facades was matched. The wing was restored with the recreation of the pediment according to Shekhtel's sketches, and the arched niches were restored.

Restorers managed to preserve the unique interiors, return the historical layout and the enfilade of halls envisioned by Kaminsky. The stucco decor and painted inserts on the ceilings and walls were restored. Missing interior elements were recreated based on preserved fragments. In 2019, the mansion became a laureate of the "Moscow Restoration" competition.
