The history of the estate begins in the early 19th century, when it belonged to the Moscow merchant Yelizaveta Ivanovna Vandyshnikova. The main house of the estate, built in the late 18th century, was a stone, one-story building with a mezzanine in the center and had a classical appearance. It was located some distance from the street, with a large garden and outbuildings behind it. The estate was not damaged during the fire of 1812. In 1817, it passed to the provincial secretary Maria Semyonovna Alexeeva, who sold it in 1823 to Prince Kirill Alexandrovich Bagration. The new owner belonged to the famous princely family of the Bagrations; his nephew was the renowned commander Pyotr Ivanovich Bagration. Kirill Alexandrovich also made a military career, rising to the rank of major general and becoming a senator. After his death, the estate was inherited by his widow Alexandra Ivanovna Bagration.

In the early 1860s, the estate passed to Sofia Frantsevna de Monsi, the wife of a French merchant, and then in 1868 to her sister Emilia Frantsevna von Vogau and her husband Philipp Maximilian von Vogau. Von Vogau, a representative of the impoverished German nobility, came to Russia in 1827 and founded a firm trading in tea and colonial goods. Over time, the firm became a large conglomerate engaged in trade and industry.

Under the Vogaus, the estate was reconstructed: the main house was expanded and a second floor was added. In the 1880s, the facades of the house were redesigned according to the project of architect Viktor Kossov in an eclectic style with classical elements. Kossov also designed other buildings for the Vogau family.

In 1892, the estate passed to the daughter of Philipp Maximilian von Vogau, Emma Maximovna Banza, and her husband Konrad Banza. The Banza family were the last owners of the estate before its nationalization after 1917.

From early 2014 to June 2015, a large-scale restoration was carried out at the estate. The facades, roof, and drainage system were repaired, and architectural elements were restored. The interiors were updated with new walls, ceilings, staircases, and parquet, and gilded leaf was used for decoration. The estate became a laureate of the "Moscow Restoration" competition in 2015 for the best organization of repair and restoration work.
