The idea of creating a museum in the city of Dyurtuli belonged to the former First Secretary of the City Committee, Razil Sitdikovich Musin. The architectural project of the building was developed by local architect Vinil Sabirovich Akhunov. Construction began in 1986, and three years later the museum opened its doors to the first visitors. At that time, the museum did not have its own collection, and Rima Badavievna independently gathered exhibits, accepting donations from local residents, as the Dyurtuli district is rich in historical events.

Today, the museum's funds include more than 16,000 exhibits. They encompass the cultural heritage of the peoples living in the Dyurtuli district, such as archaeological finds, ethnographic items, collections of visual and applied arts, documents, rare books, and photographs.

In the museum, one can learn about the forest inhabitants of the region. In addition to the usual foxes, hares, and muskrats, there are raccoon dogs that were introduced in the 1920s to control the predator population.

The museum also features finds from the Angasyakovskoye settlement, including a necklace made of yellow beads, a shoe buckle with a movable tongue, an earring in the form of a ring with a bead, and other artifacts.

The museum's exhibition is rich in items related to the everyday life of indigenous peoples, such as a Tatar dwelling and a Bashkir yurt, as well as their household items.

Among the unique exhibits of the museum are icons from the 18th and 19th centuries, church utensils, and books in Old Church Slavonic.
