Four kilometers from the city of Alexin in the Tula region lie majestic structures: an old two-story servant wing and a huge castle with a tower and clock in Gothic style. A gloomy alley with trees leaning down leads to this now abandoned place. This is the village of Kolosov. However, nearly 200 years ago, it was a remarkably beautiful place, said to be arranged "in all the splendor of whim."

In the early 19th century, the village of Kolosov belonged to chamber junker of the Imperial court Dmitry Chertkov. An eyewitness of those days, noblewoman Ekaterina Sabaneeva, best describes what the village looked like back then: "The balcony was a rotunda with a colonnade under a dome. We often sat on that balcony in the summer after a late lunch, admiring the Oka. It spread wide below the dense park, and the opposite bank of the river represented a plain of green meadows; in the distance on the horizon, illuminated by the sunset, in the pink light of the last rays, the charming provincial town of Alexin in the Tula province was visible, as if on the palm of a hand."

In 1890, the estate was acquired by a member of the Russian Monarchist Union, Klavdius Paschalov. He conducted a true renovation: instead of the old estate, he built an impressive palace in Gothic style, adorned with the Kolosov clock. Unfortunately, time has not spared them, although they once accurately kept time. In the early 20th century, the entrance to Alexin was by river, and steamships constantly traveled along the river from Serpukhov to Kaluga and Oryol. It is not surprising that Paschalov paid special attention to the facade facing the "street" to make an immediate impression. There was a separate entrance for guests' carriages, and the road was illuminated by lanterns at night. By the tradition of that time, a park was laid out nearby, ponds were dug, and a greenhouse with exotic flowers was arranged. In 1917, the estate was looted, and later it housed an agricultural school. The noble wing is still used as a living space.
