The Erzia House Museum is one of the main attractions of Mordovia and is located in the center of the village of Baev in the Ardatov district. This museum is dedicated to the famous sculptor Stepan Dmitrievich Nefedov, better known as Erzia, who was born in this village. He was a talented person with inexhaustible inspiration. The museum opened in 1976 in honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth, and in 1991, a monument created by Moscow sculptor A.M. Nenashova was installed in front of the building.

The museum building itself is a one-story wooden house measuring 9 by 7 meters, with a facade adorned with six carved windows. The total area of the museum is 89.26 square meters, of which 63 square meters are allocated for the exhibition. The museum houses four sculptures and twenty items of folk art, as well as personal belongings and photo documents of Nefedov, works by his students, samples of embroidery, a national Erzya woman's costume, a weaving loom, and wooden and ceramic utensils.

Today, the Erzia Museum not only conducts tours but also actively engages in lecture activities.
