The M.Yu. Lermontov Museum was solemnly opened in Tamani on October 24, 1976. On a high steep bank are two huts with white walls and thatched roofs. One of them is known as the 'Lermontov cottage,' while the other is a hovel where a deaf old woman lived.

The courtyard of Fyodor Mysnik, carefully recreated based on descriptions and eyewitness accounts, allows one to imagine the living conditions of Lermontov and the Cossack way of life in the 19th century. In the courtyard, surrounded by a cobblestone fence, there are outbuildings: a chicken coop, a well, and a small oven. Fishing nets are hung on poles, and on the shore stands a boat similar to the one from which Pechorin tried to throw the undine.

In a specially built building of the literary museum, there is an exhibition dedicated to the poet's stay in the Caucasus. Among the exhibits, one can see copies of Lermontov's paintings, drafts of his works, and a collection of the poet's books.

Today, the M.Yu. Lermontov House Museum in Tamani is very popular among fans of the great poet's work. People from all corners of our country come here to see with their own eyes the place where the events of the famous novel 'A Hero of Our Time' unfolded.
