The I.I. Shishkin Memorial House Museum is a monument of history and culture of federal significance. Built in 1835 by the father of the famous artist, Ivan Vasilyevich Shishkin, this house became the place where the future master of landscape painting, Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin (1832-1898), spent his childhood and youth. It was here that he began to paint, demonstrating outstanding abilities from an early age. In his mature years, Shishkin often returned here, finding inspiration in the forests and expanses of the Kama region.

The museum includes numerous rooms that represent a long space, where the atmosphere of a merchant family’s life has been carefully recreated. On the first floor, there are large and small living rooms, a dining room, a buffet, and an office. The second floor houses the master’s room and his workshop, as well as the living quarters of his sisters. From childhood, Shishkin showed a talent for drawing, and later he would return to his native places, inspired by the local nature, the forests of which are now part of the Lower Kama National Park and are protected by the state.

The museum's art gallery occupies two rooms and includes authentic works by Shishkin, created in painting, engraving, and graphics, preserving the memory of the everyday life of merchant families of that time. Here, the first painting by Shishkin, "Harvest," created in the 1850s, is also presented.

The Shishkin House is the only memorial museum in the world with authentic exhibits dedicated to the life and work of the artist. Thematic exhibitions are located in 16 rooms on two floors of the building.

The exhibition introduces visitors to the personal belongings of Shishkin and his family. In the halls, one can see real oak furniture, numerous musical instruments that were an essential part of the life of a merchant family of average means. Unique porcelain items and figurines by Kuznetsov and Gardner, as well as massive clocks and bronze lamps, are also on display.

The museum receives up to 50,000 tourists annually. Tours are conducted in four languages: Russian, Tatar, English, and German.
