One of the famous landmarks of Yalta is the house built in 1888 by the outstanding Russian architect Nikolai Petrovich Krasnov.

From 1887 to 1899, Nikolai Petrovich served as the city architect of Yalta and left behind a significant architectural legacy. Approximately 80 buildings were constructed in the city according to his designs, including public and religious structures, as well as private buildings. In the surrounding areas, such as Livadia, Miskhor, Simeiz, Alupka, and Alushta, more than 20 buildings were erected.

A special place in his career is occupied by the palaces in the grand-ducal estates of "Dulber," "Charax," "Chair," "Ai-Todor," and the imperial palace in Livadia. The latter became the main pride of the architect, bringing him worldwide fame and recognition from the last Russian Tsar Nicholas II, who highly appreciated his talent.

In the house on Pushkinskaya Street, 19, where Krasnov lived, many notable residents of Yalta often visited, including academician N.P. Kondakov, military engineer and historian A.L. Berthier-Delagarde, doctors V.N. Dmitriev and K.R. Ovsianyi, as well as architects M.I. Kotinkov and L.N. Shapovalov.

This outstanding architect lived in the house for 14 years, and in 1902 he sold it to M.P. Brovtsina. Today, the residents of Yalta continue to remember and honor Krasnov and his contribution to the city's architecture.
