Income House of Merchant K.I. Shaposhnikov

Фото 1
One of the rare pre-revolutionary buildings in Rostov-on-Don is the income house of merchant K.I. Shaposhnikov, son of a well-known Rostov entrepreneur. The uniqueness of this house lies in the fact that it was built in 1915, during the height of World War I, and there are not many such buildings in the city compared to earlier constructions. The house is located on Chekhov Avenue.

The project for the four-story mansion was developed by the famous Rostov architect Ilya Cherkessian, who was often referred to as Cherkesov. The building is executed in the Empire style and has been well preserved to this day, despite being confiscated by the Soviet authorities and subjected to careless treatment for a long time.

Today, the former income house is included in the list of cultural heritage sites of regional significance.
