The wooden dacha of Vladimir Viktorovich Grachev is located almost opposite the Marienburg railway station in Gatchina. Grachev, an actual state councilor and engineer of the Ministry of Railways, was a member of the Russian Technical Society and worked for some time as a railway inspector. In 1892, he purchased a plot on Zverinskaya Street (now Voskova Street) in Marienburg and began constructing a dacha for rent. Later, this beautiful house with a tower was registered in the name of his wife, Maria Arsentievna Gracheva.

Marienburg was renowned as a dacha gem, where many famous people vacationed. In 1904, Zinaida Gippius and her husband Dmitry Merezhkovsky lived in Grachev's house. Here, the poetess actively worked and mentioned in a letter to V.S. Mirolyubov in St. Petersburg on August 17: 'A rare circumstance: I wrote three whole poems and am eager to send them to you.'

After the revolution, the dacha was nationalized and transferred to the People's House, which served as a cultural and educational center for youth. For a long time, the first floor housed a pharmacy known as the 'Wooden Pharmacy' or 'Pharmacy at the Station.' After the war, the building was converted into communal apartments.

This wooden tower, known among locals as the 'House with the Tower,' has become a symbol of the Gatchina microdistrict.
