The dacha, owned by the famous professor Kovalevsky, was built in the late 1890s in the style of a medieval castle. After nationalization, the building was used as a children's sanatorium, and in our time, it is a restricted facility. The architecture has undergone significant changes, and the current structure only partially resembles the original.

Pavel Ivanovich Kovalevsky (1849-1931) was a Russian conservative publicist and social activist, psychiatrist, professor, and dean of the medical faculty at the Imperial Kharkov University, as well as a professor and rector of the Imperial Warsaw University. He also taught at the Imperial Kazan and St. Petersburg universities.

Kovalevsky wrote over 300 books, brochures, and articles on psychiatry and neuropathology. Among them are works such as "Guide to Proper Care for the Mentally Ill," "Forensic Psychiatry," "Mental Illness for Doctors and Lawyers," "Psychology of Gender," and others. He published the first domestic guide on psychiatry.

P.I. Kovalevsky was also respected as a historian. His works, such as "The Peoples of the Caucasus," "The Conquest of the Caucasus by Russia," and "History of Little Russia," were popular in pre-revolutionary Russia but were not published during the Soviet era due to being deemed reactionary.

Kovalevsky was one of the first to apply historical analysis to create psychological portraits of outstanding personalities. His book "Psychiatric Sketches from History" earned him well-deserved fame.

He was the elder of the Russian National Club, a member of the Council of the All-Russian National Union, and the Russian Assembly. He died in exile.
