This is one of the oldest and best-preserved residential dacha complexes in Sokolniki Park. The original owner of the plot was Ivan Artemyevich Lyamin, an actual state councilor and the mayor of Moscow, honored with numerous orders. By 1860, the Lyamins had five children, and Ivan Artemyevich acquired a large plot No. 21 in Sokolnichya Grove for the construction of a summer dacha. Lyamin was a long-time member and chairman of the Sokolniki Improvement Commission. On his plot were built: the main wooden house with carved details, a two-story house with terraces; a one-story wing; a guardhouse; greenhouses; a winter garden with a water tower resembling a Gothic castle tower; an artificial grotto and a pool. There was also a burial mound on the territory, which was carefully preserved by the owners. The arrangement of the dacha was continued by Lyamin's eldest son, Semyon Ivanovich. After 1917, the family emigrated to France.

On May 1, 1918, the first Soviet experimental forest school for 75 people was opened on the territory of the former dacha. The teaching staff included four educators and one caretaker, and F.L. Khalevskaya, a medical professional, was appointed as the director, who did much for the development of children's sanatoriums. The well-maintained territory with an electric kerosene machine and a water pump, as well as comfortable facilities, were suitable not only for weakened children but also for the rest of party workers. For example, from December 1918 to February 1919, N.K. Krupskaya lived here, which led to a visit from V.I. Lenin for the New Year's tree.

The forest school was transformed into a children's sanatorium, which operated until 1965. Then the dacha housed the nursery of the "Krasny Bogatyr" factory. Over time, the buildings fell into disrepair, and in 1972, the territory was transferred to the N.A. Nekrasov Central Library for the placement of a department of literature in the languages of the peoples of the CIS and the Baltic states. The library carried out quality restoration.

Since the 1990s, this building has housed the non-state school "Myslitel," which now occupies all the buildings. In the main building, a memorial room of the first owners, the Lyamin family, has been preserved.
