The All Saints Church is located on the grounds of the city cemetery "Maryina Roshcha," established in 1939 on the outskirts of the city, in the namesake forest area.

This place has been known since the 17th century and is mentioned in documents of that time as "the wasteland of Maryino." According to legend, it was inhabited by the ataman Marya, who engaged in robbery on the road to Moscow. In 1965, a memorial to military glory was opened here in honor of the soldiers who died in the city's hospitals during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Many figures of science and art, as well as prominent military leaders of Nizhny Novgorod, are buried in the cemetery. According to some sources, there are also graves of clergymen here.

In 1997, a memorial was opened at the cemetery in memory of Nizhny Novgorod soldiers who died on March 6, 1996, in Chechnya and were buried in Maryina Roshcha.

In 2002, a memorial was established in memory of submariners who tragically perished on the nuclear submarine "Kursk" in August 2000 and were buried here.

The construction of the church began in 1997, inspired by the tragic events in Chechnya, when 10 employees of the Volga-Vyatka RUBOP died in battle on March 6, 1996. Their relatives and colleagues decided to immortalize their memory by building a church.

The initiative group was led by V. A. Kudryavtseva, the mother of one of the deceased. The first stone was laid in 1998, and the church was consecrated on December 25, 1999. Initially, the church was small, with an area of 36 sq. m, and could not accommodate everyone. Through the efforts of the board of trustees, which included well-known citizens and entrepreneurs, a narthex was built by the feast of All Saints in 2001, allowing services to be held in a more spacious area.

The bell tower, consisting of eight bells weighing from 8 to 500 kilograms, was expanded and connected to the church.

By November 2002, the painting of the prayer hall's walls was completed under the guidance of artist-restorer N. E. Yushkov. The facade of the church was adorned with ceramic icons created by the People's Artist of Russia V. P. Grishin.
