The village of Parevka has a long history, its foundation dates back to before 1710. In 1820, a wooden Ascension church was built here, which served as a cemetery church, as the village cemetery was located behind it. The construction and interior decoration of the church were fully financed by the parishioners, among whom significant donations were made by the local landowner Maria Isaevna Vinogradova.

In 1907, the church burned down, and the Tambov diocese decided to build a stone church in Parevka. By 1909, a project for the new stone Ascension church was developed and approved, which is now located in the center of the village. During the Soviet era, the church was closed, and its building housed a village club, which still operates today.

In 2011, the construction of a new wooden church began next to this building. This log church has become a true adornment of the village and a model of wooden architecture. Architecturally, it is a cross-shaped structure with a tent bell tower set above the main volume of the building.
