The village of Davydovo, located by a pond, is 20 versts from the district town and 100 versts from the provincial capital. Until 1764, it belonged to the Trinity-Sergius Monastery. According to the land registry books of 1628, there was a church of the Nativity of Christ in the village of Sushkovo, and in the village of Miloslavl, a church in honor of Saint Nikita the Great Martyr. Since 1764, Davydovo has been a state-owned village.

The church in the village existed as early as the beginning of the 17th century. A report from 1799 mentions a wooden church in honor of the Renewal of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ. No information about the reconstructions of the church in the 17th and 18th centuries has been preserved.

In 1819, with the funds of the parishioners, a stone church was built to replace the wooden one. The crosses on the church and bell tower are adorned with a crown on top and a crescent below. The church has two altars: in the cold part, in honor of the Renewal of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, and in the warm chapel, in the name of Saint Sergius of Radonezh. The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. Among the ancient items, a silver altar cross with relics of saints is preserved, inscribed: 'This cross was donated to the church of the Holy Trinity Sergius Monastery in the village of Davydovo by the servant Illarion Semenov in memory of his parents'; there is also a small cross with relics of saints attached to the icon of the Theotokos of Tikhvin.
