The village of Batyievo is located 20 versts from Vladimir and 14 versts from Suzdal, on the banks of the Ulovka River. Exact historical data about its founding is absent. In 1237, when the Tatars led by Batu besieged Vladimir, part of their troops remained near Suzdal. According to popular legend, the current village of Batyievo was the site of Batu's army camp, and in memory of this event, as well as the suffering caused by the Tatars, the village was named after the formidable leader. This legend seems plausible, as near the village, along the road from Vladimir to Suzdal, there is a burial mound known as 'Batu's Barrow.'

In the 18th century and until the 1830s, there stood a wooden church in honor of the Resurrection of the Lord. This is evidenced by an ancient silver-gilt chalice from 1731, an Apostle with an inscription from 1753 left by priest Andrey Gavrilov, and a prayer book with his signature dated February 3, 1769. In the same year, on February 25, an inscription was struck on the polyelai bell.

On the site of the old church now stands a small stone chapel, surrounded by huge wild stones that served as the foundation of the church. The chapel is crowned with an ancient iron four-pointed cross with a crown and a heart-like shape, which remains from the previous church.

In 1835, thanks to the efforts of commerce advisor Mikhail Ivanovich Titov, a stone church with a bell tower was built. The church is distinguished by its elegance both inside and out; the choir, a rarity for rural churches, adds to its grandeur and beauty. The church has three altars: the central one in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, on the right side in honor of Archangel Michael, and on the left, in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker. On the eight-pointed cross in the church, there is an inscription stating that on November 25, 1835, the church was consecrated by Archimandrite Parthenius from the Suzdal Spaso-Evfimiev Monastery.

The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. Copies of the metric books from 1780, confession lists from 1806, and an inventory of church property compiled in 1882 are kept. According to the staff, a priest and a psalmist serve in the church.
