The book "Monuments of Church Antiquities" describes the history of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese. In the Semyonovsky district, in the 1st Deanery, in the village of Svyatitsy, a wooden church was built in 1879 in honor of the Vladimir Mother of God. An application preserved in the archives of the Semyonovsky district executive committee, compiled on March 18, 1930, by the priest of the Svyatitsy church, Vasily Alekseevich Vvedensky, indicates that he has served in the church since 1897. At the time of the application, he was 58 years old. The description of the first church has not survived, but it is known that a new wooden church with a stone foundation and nine domes was built in its place in 1910-1911. This church was erected after a fire, and the necessary items were acquired through donations. The church had a four-tiered iconostasis, unadorned icons, six bells made of copper, tin, and iron, as well as various church utensils and books.

After the decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee on January 23, 1918, regarding the separation of church and state, the Vladimir church in Svyatitsy, like many others, was subject to inventory and confiscation of property. All churches and monasteries in the district were registered, and church property and metric books were confiscated. Priests were prohibited from recording births, marriages, and deaths. In 1922, according to the decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and the order of the Nizhny Novgorod provincial commission, gold and silver coins, as well as church utensils made of precious metals, were confiscated from the churches.

On October 21, 1934, the Semyonovsky district executive committee decided to prohibit bell ringing in 14 villages, including Svyatitsy, as it interfered with educational activities and the work of industrial enterprises. Today, there are no longer those who made these decisions, nor the country in which this occurred. However, the temple in the village of Svetloye, having survived all trials, continues its mission, preserving the Orthodox faith.
