In 1777, a warm stone church of the Entrance of the Lord in Jerusalem was built and consecrated, which has survived to this day. The church had two chapels: in honor of the first martyr, Archdeacon Stephen, and five martyrs, Eustratius, Axentius, Eugene, Mardarius, and Orest.

In 1928, when the first wave of church closures in Arzamas began, it was planned to preserve both chapels: one for a school and the other for a student dormitory. However, a different decision was soon made. In 1930, the district statistical department and a cooperative school were placed in the building of the warm church. By the end of that year, the school was moved to Vyyezdnoye, and an electric station was set up in the church building to light the lower part of the city. Later, a garage was arranged here, which was moved from the Bogoslovsky Church, where a meat processing plant had operated for some time. In 2004, the church was returned to the believers, and a minor consecration took place on January 2, 2013.

The exact date of the destruction of the Bogoslovsky Church is unknown, but it likely occurred before the Great Patriotic War. The second church was revived in the early 21st century and now adorns the hill above the suburban bus station.

On the front facade of the church, a memorial plaque was installed on September 28, 2014, in honor of the native of Arzamas, Blessed Pelagia of Diveyevo, who prayed in this church.
