The village of Yuryevo, part of the Vasilyevsky parish, is first mentioned in the records of the Ryazan bishop from 1676. The center of the parish was a wooden church dedicated to St. Basil the Great, located at the Vasilyevsky burial site. This church is noted in the land books of 1629-1630 and is situated in the area of the modern village. From the same land books, it is known that there were two churches at the burial site. In 1731, both churches burned down, except for the side chapel dedicated to Archangel Michael.

In 1740, parishioners built a new wooden church in honor of St. Basil the Great, and in 1742, they added a side chapel in honor of St. Paraskeva the Great Martyr. In 1780, a new church was erected on the site of this church with three altars: the main altar in honor of St. Basil the Great, and the side altars in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Paraskeva the Great Martyr. In 1790, the church dedicated to Archangel Michael was rebuilt and became warm, but it was consecrated in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

The construction of the stone church at the Vasilyevsky burial site lasted from 1830 to 1857. During this time, the wooden churches were dismantled: the warm one in 1840 and the cold one in 1855. The wood was used for firing bricks for the new church. The stone church was equipped with three altars: the main altar in honor of St. Basil the Great, and in the warm side chapels, in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and St. Paraskeva the Great Martyr.
