The next significant stone structure of the monastery was the hospital building with the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God, built between 1884 and 1887 according to the design of A. P. Beloyartsev. This building was located to the east of a wide asphalt road that connected the holy gates under the bell tower with the southern entrance to the Iversky Cathedral. The main part of the Assumption Church was a two-light, pillarless square, topped with five domes on cylindrical drums, with the central drum being light-filled. The walls of the square were adorned with kokoshniks, which also decorated the entrances to the temple. The altar part had a rectangular shape with rounded corners. The hospital building, adjoining the square from the west, had a simple volumetric-planning structure typical of monastery buildings of that time. The floors were divided by through longitudinal corridors, on both sides of which were almost square rooms. A distinctive feature of the building was a large arched opening connecting the hospital with the church, allowing severely ill patients to listen to the service without leaving their beds.
