In 1850, a stone church was built with the active participation of Major General Mikhail Dontsov, who took part in military actions in the Caucasus in 1823 and 1827. The church was consecrated by Bishop Eugene of Astrakhan in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1854, an altar was arranged and consecrated in honor of John the Theologian. The fence and the watchman's lodge around the church were also made of stone. Contemporaries noted its good architecture and abundance of light. The length of the church was 28.5 meters, and the width was 11.5 meters.

The iconostasis was five-tiered and contained valuable icons, among which the Image of the Mother of God "Life-Giving Spring" was especially venerated. The church also housed a Gospel published around 1640. In 1933, the church was closed, and in 1934, the bells were removed, and the building was decided to be converted into a people's house. The church has survived to this day, and restoration work is currently being carried out there.
