In 1867, the construction of a new stone church with an iron roof was completed in the wilderness, initiated by Hieromonk Samuel in 1855. The church had two altars: on the right, in honor of the Three Hierarchs, and on the left, in honor of Saint Martyr Sophia and her three daughters Faith, Hope, and Love. The construction was financed by Grigory Sergeev Vasilyev, an honorary citizen of Moscow.

In 1918-1919, the monastery was closed, and its property was transferred to the management of the WatSobes and land departments. The monastery was ravaged, and the monks were expelled. The Spaso-Transfiguration Pronsk Monastery was not listed among the monasteries of the Russian Orthodox Church for 95 years. In the 1940s, a children's home was established in the monastery buildings, followed by the Pronsk specialized correctional boarding school, which existed since the end of World War II. The placement of orphans helped preserve the buildings from complete destruction, although not in their original form. Two temples of the monastery did not survive: a house was built on the site of the Trinity Church, the Holy Spirit Church on the third floor of the brotherhood building was demolished, and the Three Hierarchs Church was stripped of its drum and dome, turning it into a residential space. After the closure of the boarding school, a children's educational center "Pronyushka" Orthodox camp was established in the monastery premises.

In February 2011, with the blessing of the ruling archbishop of the Ryazan Diocese, the revival of the ancient Pronsk shrine began, and it received the status of an Archdiocesan Courtyard. In October 2013, by the decision of the Holy Synod, the Spaso-Transfiguration Pronsk Monastery was reopened.
