Фото 1
The land books from 1676 mention that there was a wooden church in the village dedicated to the Life-Giving Trinity. It housed icons of the Life-Giving Trinity, the Most Holy Theotokos of the Wayfinder, and Saint Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica. The church was built by the order of Archimandrite Pachomius from the Makaryev Monastery, located on yellow sands, and was consecrated in 1667.

In the same village, there was another wooden church dedicated to the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, built in 1673 with funds from the parishioners. The church was surrounded by a fence with gates. On the church grounds were the yards of priests Yakov and Afanasy Ivanov, deacon Kirill Afanasyev, a prosphora baker, a place for the sexton, and two yards of landless peasants.

These two churches existed in Yakovtsevo until the early 19th century. From 1816 to 1820, a stone temple was built to replace the wooden churches, the appearance of which remained unchanged until 1896, although the interior decoration was updated several times. The temple had three altars: the main one in the name of the Life-Giving Trinity, and two in the warm chapels, in honor of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The church was well supplied with utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. Two small crosses containing relics of saints were considered special relics. The first cross contained the relics of the head of John the Baptist, Basil the Great, Jacob of Borovitsky, Sergius of Radonezh, John the Much-Suffering, Bishop Anthony of Novgorod, Archdeacon Stephen, and others. The second cross held relics of the Blessed Prince Constantine of Murom and his sons Mikhail and Fyodor. An ancient altar Gospel dated 1657 has also been preserved.

According to the staff schedule, there were two priests, a deacon, and two psalmists serving at the church, receiving about 1800 rubles a year from various sources for their maintenance. The houses of the clergy were located on church land. The church's land holdings included estate land of 1 desyatina 1038 sazhen, arable land of 27 desyatins 404 sazhen, and haymaking land of 11 desyatins 1775 sazhen. There were plans and boundary books. The parish consisted of the village of Yakovtsevo and the villages of Sapun, Spasskoye, Pozhogi, Bezhanova, Polzikovo, Gorushki, Golyavino, Elemeika, and Novinki. According to the clerical records, the parish had 549 households, 1573 men, and 1577 women, including 147 men and 150 schismatics.

In the village of Yakovtsevo, there was a zemstvo public school, where 92 people studied in 1896, as well as male and female church-parish schools, with 40 and 27 students respectively. In the literacy school, 10 people were taught in 1896. According to church-metric books, at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, the teachers of the church-parish school were Ivan Vasilyevich Krylov, Mikhail Ivanovich Neapolitan, and village teacher Lev Alexeyevich Kastorsky.
