The temple complex in the village of Verkhne-Nikulskoye impresses with its beauty. It includes the Trinity Church, a church fence with gates, and two brick watchmen's lodges located at the corners of the fence.

The church was built in 1806 and includes three altars: in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, and Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker.

The church lands cover 37 desyatinas, and the parish includes 38 settlements.

The active priest of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity Church was Father Pavel Alexandrovich Gruzdev, who earned immense respect and love from the parishioners and became a legend. His biography is detailed in N.A. Smirnova's book "The Last Elder," published in 2004.

Father Pavel was born in the Mologsky district into a poor peasant family and was raised in the Afanasyevsky Women's Monastery. Despite the repressions and camps, he maintained a great love for people. People came to him for advice and support from the most remote corners of Russia. Even during Soviet times, newborns from the Nekouzsky district sought to be baptized in his Holy Trinity Church, as he was remarkably wise and simple in communication. P.A. Gruzdev passed away in Tutaev in 1996. The Holy Trinity Church housed the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "It Is Truly Meet," brought in the early 20th century from Mount Athos by monk Joseph the Marble. This image is now kept in one of the churches in Rybinsk. In the cemetery by the church in the village of Verkhne-Nikulskoye, on the southern side of the temple, there is a crypt where Nikolai Nikolayevich and Andrei Nikolayevich Glebov are buried. It seems that the very land of Verkhne-Nikulskoye is sacred and preserves the memory of the people who dedicated their lives to these picturesque places where the Ild River flows.

The village of Verkhne-Nikulskoye has a rich history. According to legend, it belonged to the Suntsov princes, who traced their lineage back to Rurik. It is said that on the left bank of the Ild, these princes had a large columned house.
