Until May 1869, the peasants of Sharapovo belonged to the parish of the church in the village of Zhabki. In 1869, having received permission from the Ryazan Consistory, they acquired a wooden Trinity church from the village of Lelechi. That same year, the church was installed in the village of Sharapovo and consecrated on August 17. It had two chapels: the Pokrovsky and the Nikolsky.

In 1882, a stone church of the Life-Giving Trinity was built with the chapels of the Conception and the Assumption.

Initially, the parish included not only the village but also the villages of Novoshino, Tyushino, and Spirino, but since 1889, Novoshino became a village with its own parish.

The church was closed in the 1930s.

Since 2002, restoration work on the church and the construction of a bell tower have begun.
