The village of Sannikovo is located 20 versts from the city of Kovrov and 95 versts from Vladimir. In ancient times, there was a wooden church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a similar bell tower. The patriarchal books of 1635 mention the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Sannikovo, which belonged to the chamberlain Prince Vasily Romodanovsky, and in 1672 it was transferred to the Suzdal Archbishop. This church existed until the 1840s.

From 1836 to 1848, a stone five-domed church with a stone bell tower was built with the funds of the parishioners. The main altar was consecrated in 1848 in honor of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity, and the warm chapel, in 1840 in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The church became known as the Trinity Church. It is richly supplied with church utensils, vestments, holy icons, and liturgical books. The church documents, including copies of the metric books since 1803 and confession lists since 1829, are kept intact. An inventory of church property was compiled in 1886 and is also stored in the church. The Trinity Church is associated with the Resurrection Church of the village of Misailovo and the Peter and Paul Church of the village of Petrovsky.

The clergy staff includes a priest and a psalmist. Their maintenance amounts to 116 rubles per year: 100 rubles from land and service fees and 16 rubles from interest capital. The clergy houses are located on church land. The parish includes the village and the villages of Ryabinitsy, Dushkino, Kashukovo, Glazkovo, and Knyaz-Mikhaylovo, located within a radius of 1 to 5 versts from the church. The parish has 36 households, with 114 men and 114 women living there. Since 1889, a zemstvo public school has been operating in the village, housed in a building constructed by merchant Godalov.
