The beginning of the village of Salamatnaya, located on the shore of the lake of the same name, is linked to the establishment of a winter settlement with the same name. It was likely created by the authorities and was on the route to the Novo-Ishim defensive line. According to some sources, the winter settlement was founded in 1758, while others state it was in 1765. The founder of the village was peasant Grigory Afanasevich Kazantsev, but it is unknown where he moved from with his family.

Initially, the village of Salamatnaya was part of the Kurgan sloboda, and after the formation of the Kurgan district in 1782, it became part of the Sychevsk volost. In the 1840s, settlers from the central provinces of Russia joined the local residents, forming a separate settlement, which significantly increased the village's population.

With the opening of the Salamatov volost in 1869, the need for a priest arose. Metric books at the Salamatov church began to be kept from 1878, and that same year, part of the residents from the Lopatinsky khutor joined the parish. By 1924, the parish included the village of Salamatovskoye and the villages of Banikova, Belyanina, Kopai, as well as part of the residents of the villages of 1st Dundina and Buldak. This composition of the parish likely remained until its closure by the Chelyabinsk regional executive committee in 1936.

For the construction of the first church in the village of Salamatovsk, parishioners purchased an old wooden church with a fence and gates from the village of Chashinskoye in 1872. The building was planned to be restored at the new location according to old blueprints, adding a porch with columns and railings. The diocesan authorities permitted the construction in October 1872, and changes to the plan were made in 1873. A contract for the work was signed with peasant Yakov Antonovich Sokolov. In 1874, the church building was transported to Salamatovsk, and on May 23 of the same year, a decree for the church's establishment was issued.

The Church in the name of the Holy Trinity was laid on June 2, 1874. During the laying, peasants threw coins under the foundation, but they were soon stolen, and the laying had to be repeated. The construction was funded by the parishioners and was completed in February 1876. By July 1877, the building was fully ready and painted. The antimension for the new church was consecrated by Bishop Efrem on August 7, 1877, and the church was consecrated on November 20, 1877.

Initially, the church had an old iconostasis from the village of Chashinskoye. However, by the 1880s, it had deteriorated, and in 1882, the parishioners decided to update it. In 1885, a contract was signed with contractor Vasily Stepanovich Vinogradov for the installation of a new iconostasis. The work was completed in November 1886, and on March 2, 1887, the church was consecrated again.

By the beginning of the 20th century, the old wooden church could no longer accommodate all the parishioners and was in poor condition. From 1902, fundraising began for the construction of a new stone church, which was roughly completed in 1915. In 1919, it had not yet been fully finished, but in 1923, it was likely consecrated.

The church ceased its activities in 1930, the ringing of bells was banned in 1934, and it was closed in 1936. By 1947, the building was partially destroyed and used as a grain warehouse. However, it has survived to this day and is a cultural heritage site of the Kurgan region.
