Church of the Holy Trinity in Krasnoe

Фото 1
In the 18th century, the village of Krasnoe was owned by the noble Konovnitsyn family. In 1798, they built a small church dedicated to the Holy Trinity with two altars: one dedicated to the Sign of the Most Holy Theotokos, and the other to the Holy Life-Giving Trinity.

The church lands covered 47 desyatinas, and the parish included 13 settlements.

The architecture of the church is notable for several local features. The wooden porticoes are adorned with columns, and the upper tier of the bell tower is crowned with five domes: four smaller ones surrounding the central dome. The church is built in a traditional style, an octagon on a square base.

The church has preserved remnants of a carved iconostasis, and the frescoes have suffered little damage. The bell tower has been subjected to fires twice: once from a lightning strike and another due to human negligence. Local residents managed to save the church from the flames, but the ladder to the bell tower was completely lost.
