The Trinity Church on Redyatina Street, located in the Yamskaya Sloboda of Veliky Novgorod, is a non-functioning Orthodox church. Built in the 14th century, it underwent renovations in the 18th and 19th centuries.

This architectural monument, situated near the Kremlin, reflects three centuries of history: the 14th, 18th, and 19th centuries, and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.

According to chronicles, the stone church of the Holy Trinity on Redyatina Street was laid in 1365. Its construction was financed by the Yugorians, Novgorod merchants who traded fur with the Ural Yugra. They sold sable, ermine, arctic fox, black marten, and white wolf furs to European markets, which was as significant as Eastern spices. These goods were practically equivalent to gold, and furs were the main "currency" in the north, just as spices were in the south. The Trinity Church became the spiritual center of the Yugorians.

Chronicles report fires in the church in 1526, 1554, and 1611, as well as restorations in 1623 and 1708. In 1734, the church was essentially rebuilt on the old foundation.

In 1789, a wooden chapel of Luke and a refectory were added to the church, and a wooden bell tower was installed, moved from the Desyatinnoye Monastery. However, all these structures burned down in a fire in 1829. In 1832, stone buildings, a new chapel, and a bell tower were erected in their place. Another fire occurred in 1838, but the church was restored again.

The most significant damage to the church occurred during the Great Patriotic War. It was restored in 1975-1978, although work continues to this day.

The Trinity Church in Yamskaya Sloboda has significant historical value and reflects the intersection of Novgorod architectural styles. Its features include the absence of middle and side pilasters on the facades and the presence of three apses, of which only the central one is decorated with ribbons, which is atypical for Novgorod architecture of the 14th-15th centuries. The church is a small four-pillar structure with a single dome on an octagonal drum and an eight-pitched roof. On the western side, a porch with a three-tiered quadrangular bell tower topped with a high spire and cross adjoins the church.

Particular value is represented by the remains of the foundation from 1365, discovered in the basement of the church during restoration. On the northern facade of the church, in the kiot above the entrance, fragments of 18th-century frescoes have been preserved. The drum features decor made of rich tiles and multicolored ceramic tiles, which were widely used in the decoration of churches and monasteries in Veliky Novgorod. These elements are also presented in the exhibition "Tiles in the Collection of the Novgorod Museum" at the Nikolsky Cathedral in Yaroslav's Courtyard.

In 2010, the Trinity Church in Yamskaya Sloboda remained closed to visitors due to ongoing restoration work. Despite this, it remains an important monument of Novgorod architecture and a national treasure.
