The church, closed in the 1930s, is now in a state of neglect and is rapidly deteriorating.

The stone temple in the village of Osoka is a rare example of Naryshkin Baroque for the Middle Volga region.

The church, built according to a traditional scheme, consists of a two-light square base with an elongated eastern apse, ending in a semicircle. A low refectory adjoins the church from the west.

A low chapel dedicated to the Holy Martyrs Cyricus and Julitta is located at the northeast corner of the refectory, giving the building a picturesque asymmetry characteristic of 17th and early 18th-century architecture. The building stands on a rubble foundation made of wild stone and a variably high brick plinth.

The dome of the church was lost in the early 1990s due to an unsuccessful restoration when the old dome was dismantled, and a new wooden one, smaller and with distorted proportions, remained unfinished.

The facade of the church is designed in the Naryshkin Baroque style, which is particularly noticeable in the decoration of the window frames. The arched windows of the church and apse are framed with window surrounds featuring half-columns, bases, and capitals, as well as high trapezoidal pediments. The rectangular windows of the octagon have surrounds with half-columns and arch-shaped pediments.

The upper part of the walls is adorned with a frieze and topped with a profiled cornice. The upper corners of the church's square base are decorated with rusticated pilasters, while the lower ones have paired half-columns. The corners of the refectory are highlighted by bundles of columns. On the semi-vault of the altar, frescoes depicting the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God have been preserved.
