In Kashkarantsy, there has long been a chapel dedicated to the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. It was built by monks from the Solovetsky Monastery, who lived here under orders for fishing. The chapel existed until 1866, when it was transformed into a church by adding an altar. The church was consecrated on December 16, 1868, also in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God.

However, the church turned out to be too small, and in 1878 it was completely rebuilt, leaving only the altar unchanged. On October 29, 1894, the church burned to the ground for unknown reasons, and almost all property was lost in the fire.

On the site of the burned church, construction of a new one began on July 8, 1895, with the same name. It was consecrated on September 11 of the same year by priests Mikhail Istomin from Varzuga, Nikolai Pavlovsky from the local area, and Alexei Sintsov from Kuzomen. The church has a sufficient vestry but does not have rental articles, being maintained solely through the sale of candles, collection of donations, and contributions. In 1895, over 200 rubles were received from these sources. The parish guardianship, opened in 1894, also takes care of the church's maintenance. The funds for construction were provided by merchant Konrad Galter. The height of the church is 8 fathoms, its length is 9 fathoms, and its width ranges from 3 to 5 fathoms. The roof is covered with iron, and the bell tower is connected to the church.

The chapel dedicated to the Nativity of John the Baptist is located in the village of Olenitsa, 35 versts from Kashkarantsy. It was built in 1894 with funds from local peasants and consecrated on December 28 of the same year by archpriest Mikhail Istomin. This is the second church in Olenitsa: the first, also dedicated to the Nativity of John the Baptist, was erected in the late 1850s and early 1860s with government funds, but soon fell into disrepair due to soil moisture and was dismantled in 1894.

A small chapel resembling a barn is located 7 versts from Kashkarantsy on the seashore. An unknown monk is buried there, whose body was found on the shore or caught in the sea with a net during fishing.
