The Nativity of the Virgin Mary Church in the village of Menchakovo is located on a high bank of the Irmes River and is built in the style of pillarless Suzdal churches, where the height of the church is twice the size of the cubic main volume. Unlike the cozier Suzdal churches, this church stands out with its strict straight lines of the roofs. The architecture of the temple features clear geometry: the roofs of the five-domed main volume, the tent of the bell tower, and the straight slopes of the roofs of the apse and refectory are constructed with precision. The linearity of the facade is softened by kokoshniks and slightly rounded forms of the three-part apse.

Services are held in the refectory part of the church, while the main volume is separated by a temporary brick partition and is used as a hay storage. The external condition of the church is satisfactory: the roofs have been restored, and the facades have been whitewashed. However, significant work is needed for restoration inside, as the frescoes are in very poor condition.
