On November 3, 1935, the All-Russian Central Executive Committee sent a letter to the Yuriev-Polsky district finance department instructing them to return the requests from the applicants of the religious society of the Bolshoye Kuzminskoye village council. The letter stated that their requests for a review of the insurance payments from the church and for a reconsideration of the court decision regarding the payment for the stolen church valuables were left unsatisfied.

The appeal of believers in defense of priests is a rather rare phenomenon, but such cases did occur. For example, on May 26, 1936, believers from Bolshoye Kuzminskoye in the Yuriev-Polsky district complained that their priest N.P. Blagoveshchensky was taken away and everything he had and the church was destroyed, despite the payment of taxes.

The small church, consisting of three parts and built in simple forms without special architectural embellishments, had long been in neglect. However, at the time of filming, the refectory, likely the best-preserved part, was already covered with a new galvanized roof. The church is gradually being restored.
