The village of Okshovo is located on the Oka River, 24 versts from the district town. In the tax books of the Ryazan diocese from 1676, it is mentioned as a village in the parish of the village of Sanchur, where there was a landowner's estate and 9 peasant households. The church was first built here in 1785 by landowner M. Yazikov, but not in the village itself, rather one and a half versts away.

In 1852, the peasants moved the church into the village itself. This wooden church has two altars: the main one in honor of the Nativity of Christ, and the side altar in honor of Archangel Michael. The church is well supplied with utensils, vestments, icons, and liturgical books. The parish has a priest and a psalmist, who receive up to 250 rubles a year from services and sacramental duties. Since 1881, the peasants have committed to providing the clergy with 8 quarters of rye and oats annually, but this obligation is fulfilled irregularly.

The priest has his own house on church land. According to the plan, there should be 34 desyatinas of land by the church, but about 2 desyatinas of meadow land have been washed away by water. There is no plan or land survey book for the land. The parish includes only the village of Okshovo, which, according to the clerical records, has 87 households, 317 men, and 341 women. The village also has a literacy school.
