Before the revolution, there were three churches in the village of Krasny Yar. The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was located where the modern canning factory stands. The Church of the Prophet Elijah was situated in the cemetery of the stanitsa. The Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God was where the Church of Christ the Savior currently operates. This church had two levels: a winter one and a summer upper one. The bell tower reached a height of 57 meters. In 1937, the largest church in the village was completely destroyed, and a water tower was built in its place, which soon collapsed. After that, a public school was erected on the site, but it also fell into disrepair over time. As a result, nothing was built here for a long time, and the place remained abandoned.

In 1990-1992, the parish of the Church of Christ the Savior was registered, and the local authorities allocated a plot for a new church. At that time, the church was located in an old red brick building that was not suitable for worship. The inscription "1912" was laid out on the fronton of this building. The church remained there until 2002, and now a Sunday school operates in that building.

The consecration of the church on October 28, 2002, was conducted by His Eminence Jonah, Archbishop of Astrakhan and Yenotayevsk.
