The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was built of wood in 1865, but this material proved to be short-lived. In 1899, the construction of a new stone church began. It took ten years to complete the building up to the roof level. The construction was financed by the merchant Ivan Andreevich Pavperov from Kozlov. The church was consecrated in 1912 by Archbishop Kirill Smirnov of Tambov, and the parish opened in 1918. At that time, the village had 197 households and a population of 310 people. The church staff included a priest and a psalmist.

According to historical documents from the Tambov Metropolis, the church was officially closed by the authorities in the 1930s but reopened in 1945. Notably, in 1961, local authorities attempted to close the church again, but the believers managed to prevent this.

The spire-like domes of the five rounded cupolas and the three-tiered bell tower create the impression of burning candles on a luxurious candlestick. The church is known for its preserved wall paintings, revered icons, and special atmosphere. Currently, large-scale restoration work and landscaping of the area are underway.

In 2013, the Intercession Church celebrated its centenary.
