This temple on Boldin Island was erected in memory of the ancient Voskresensko-Boldin Monastery, which once stood in this place. On January 20, 1908, the newly built church was solemnly consecrated by Bishop Georgy. Next to the church, a public school was opened to educate the local children, along with a library. The small bells for the church were donated by F.N. Lebedev, and on October 26, 1914, a large bell was consecrated and raised to the belfry. The church was built of stone, small, in the ancient Russian style, with a two-tiered bell tower. In the late 1930s, the church was closed, and its interior was destroyed. On April 28, 1945, thanks to the efforts of Astrakhan Archbishop Philip, the church was returned to the Orthodox Church.
