Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Zemlyansky

Фото 1
The village of Zemlyansky, located near the village of Zemlyanoye, was founded by its residents and likely received its name in honor of this village. The first mention of it appears in the land books of 1782, where it is listed as the village of Zemlyanoye.

The Nikolskaya church in the village of Zemlyansky is a rectangular building with a four-pitched roof, topped with an elongated onion dome and a cross on a decorative drum. Above the gable roof of the small porch, there is a small cross, and an icon is placed in the niche. A small bell tower adjoins the main building from the west. In 2009, the foundation was laid and a cross was installed for the new Nikolsky temple, which was blessed by His Grace Theodosius, the Bishop of Tambov and Michurinsk.

Currently, regular services are held at the Church of St. Nicholas, and the area around the temple is enclosed by a metal fence. Construction work on the new church is ongoing.
