The village of Yazikovo, located by the ponds, is 23 km from Sudogda and 66 km from Vladimir. The church in Yazikovo existed as early as the beginning of the 17th century. It is mentioned in the patriarchal books: "the church of the great Wonderworker Nicholas in the village of Yazikovo in the estate of Karp Naval'kin." According to the scribal books of 1643, Yazikovo was an ancient estate of Stepan Petrovich Naval'kin. The village had the church of Nicholas the Wonderworker and a warm church of Saint Martyr Paraskeva, both wooden and built by the estate owners. In 1648, Yazikovo was listed in the estate of the bedchamber servant Mikhail Alexeyevich Rtishchev, and in 1653, in the estate of the Metropolitan of Krutitsy, later the Metropolitan of Saransk and Podonsk.

According to the inventory of 1702, the church in Yazikovo was rich in icons of old writing, often with life scenes and in silver, gilded frames. There was one church dedicated to Saint Wonderworker Nicholas, with a warm chapel in honor of Martyr Paraskeva. It had a three-tiered iconostasis. In the mid-18th century, the church was rebuilt and consecrated in 1757. The parish included the village of Yazikovo and the villages of Zharcov, Radilov, and the Bolotsky glass factory. According to the clerical records, there were 551 men and 607 women in these settlements. Yazikovo had a church-parochial school with 21 students.

During the Soviet era, the church in Yazikovo was placed under state protection as a monument of wooden architecture, but its condition deteriorated. In 1932, priest Pavel Yanov was arrested, in 1936, Dmitry Levkoev, and in 1937, priest Vasily Tretyakov.

In 1996, a strong fire occurred in Yazikovo, destroying 15 houses and 10 baths. Firefighter Alexander Kudryashov reported that, while approaching the water source, he noticed one surviving house among the burning ones. An elderly woman stood near it with an icon of the Kazan Mother of God, who walked around the house three times. At that moment, the fire, without touching the house, jumped to the next one. Meanwhile, the destroyed church remained unharmed.
