On August 17, 2006, in the ancient Zaonezh village of Sennaya Guba, employees of the Kizhi Museum-Reserve, together with local residents, installed a Pilgrim Cross next to the ruined Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. This event, named "Revival," was conducted as part of a social partnership agreement between the Kizhi Museum-Reserve and the Medvezhyegorsk District, signed in 2004.

The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra is located in the protected area of the Kizhi Museum-Reserve. Currently, conservation work is necessary to preserve the remains of the building, which is rapidly deteriorating. These works, as well as repairs, will be carried out by the Carpentry Center of the Kizhi Museum-Reserve, which also made the Pilgrim Cross. This is already the second initiative to save a monument in Zaonezh that is outside the museum's territory; the first was the repair of the church in the village of Leliko. The cross was consecrated by the rector of the Spaso-Kizhi Patriarchal Courtyard, Archpriest Nikolai Ozolin. The installation of the cross became a significant event for the villagers, who gathered together on that day. Employees of the Folklore and Ethnographic Theater of the Kizhi Museum-Reserve also participated in the event, performing spiritual verses and Zaonezh long songs.

The village of Sennaya Guba is located on Bolshoy Klimenets Island. The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, built in 1810 on a small cape by the lake on the northwestern outskirts of the village, served as a landmark for ships in the Kizhi skerries of Lake Onega. The height of the church reached 30 meters. It embodied the ideas of traditional folk architecture of Zaonezh and the Russian North, distinguished by its height, expressive silhouette, and harmony with nature. Brick was used for the walls and wood for the upper part with the domes. The church was built in the form of a "ship," which included the altar, temple part, narthex, and bell tower.

Unfortunately, as a result of a fire in 1989, all wooden parts of the church and interior details were destroyed. Now it is a stone skeleton with remnants of windows and doors. The church has lost its role as an architectural dominant in the Kizhi skerries, which passed the baton of architectural accents northward to the Transfiguration Church on Kizhi Island.
