Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in the Village of Bolshoye Borisovo

Фото 1
The church in the village is likely as old as the settlement itself. By 1500, it existed, as otherwise Borisovo would not have been called a village. In A. Fedorov's book "Historical Collection on the Citizens of Suzdal," it is mentioned that the village of Borisovo was an independent parish of the Suzdal Diocese. According to local church documents, the church was dedicated to the saint and miracle worker Nicholas and was called Nikolskaya. It was wooden, with a wooden bell tower. This church existed until 1800, when a new stone church with one altar in honor of the saint and miracle worker Nicholas was built and consecrated. The bell tower of the new church was also made of stone.
