The village of Mikhailovskaya, located by the Sueri River, was founded by settlers from central Russia in 1848. After the construction of its own church and the formation of a parish, the village was granted the status of Mikhailovskoye, where the Nikolsky festivities were held annually.

Since its founding, the village of Mikhailovskaya was part of the parish of the Znamenskaya Church of the village of Mostovsky. In 1859, an independent Mikhailov parish was established, which included, in addition to the village itself, the villages of Kroshina, Pesyanaya, Khudorybya, Troitskaya, Pershina, and Sungurova. Since 1894, the village of Malo-Kroshina, located half a kilometer from the church, was included in the parish, and in the early 20th century, the village of Kokorina was added. This composition of the parish existed until the early 1930s.

In 1858, the construction of a wooden church on a stone foundation dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker began in the village of Mikhailovskaya. The work was funded by local residents and was completed in 1859. In 1861, parishioners hired the painter Stepan Krutov from Ishim to create a gilded iconostasis with carvings in the Rococo style and icons in the Greek style. The church was consecrated on May 9, 1865. By the end of the 19th century, the church had fallen into disrepair, and in 1904, the building was sold to the Rechnoe rural society, with the icons transferred to the new church. Due to the dilapidation and small capacity of the old church, in 1897, the parishioners decided to build a new stone church in honor of the coronation of Emperor Nicholas II.

In 1900, architect Nikolai Yushkov developed a project for a new three-altar church for 1,000 people, and the construction was approved by the diocesan authorities with funds from the parishioners. The contract for the masonry of the building was awarded to peasant Georgy Makarov from the Omutinskaya volost of the Yalutorovsky district.

The church was laid on July 13, 1900, by archpriest Peter Burov. By May 1905, the construction was completed, and nine gilded crosses were installed on the seven-domed church with a high bell tower. In 1906, three carved gilded iconostases were made according to the design of I.A. Khlopotov, who also painted the walls and ceilings of the church.

On November 6, 1906, archpriest Nikolai Burov, with the assistance of eight priests, consecrated the main altar in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. In the following years, the side altars were consecrated: the southern in honor of St. Haralampius the Martyr and the northern in honor of St. Theodosius of Chernigov. After the consecration of the central altar, a stone church fence with metal grilles was built over the course of 10 years, and the church continued to be adorned with wall paintings.

The Nicholas Church in the village of Mikhailovskoye was officially not closed, but it ceased to function in 1932 when the building was repurposed as a storage facility for 'Zagotzerno'.

By the early 1960s, the building had fallen into a state of disrepair, with cracks appearing in the walls, and the church fence was completely destroyed.
