The building was laid on May 26, 1902, on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk City Hospital. Its construction was financed by the hereditary honorary citizen Tokareva I.I. according to the project of provincial architect Sokolovsky V.A. The construction was overseen by the chief physician of the city hospital, Prein A.P. It was completed in 1907.
The one-story building with a basement, intended for the hospital church, is located in the center of the city hospital complex, between Mira, Veynbaum, and Marx streets. The building plan has a longitudinal-axial structure: a square room of the church with a rectangular altar apse and an adjoining rectangular narthex from the west. To the north, there is a square room of another narthex-vestibule. Under the altar apse, there is a square basement.
The architectural composition of the building includes a temple square with a four-pitched roof, to which lowered volumes of the altar apse and narthexes with sloping roofs adjoin from the east, west, and north. To the south, there is an extension with an entrance to the basement adjoining the altar apse. The main entrance is located on the western facade.
The ceilings of the building are vaulted: the church has a cross vault, while the altar apse and western narthex have conchs. The southern narthex has a flat ceiling supported by wooden beams. The corners of the western narthex are decorated with pilasters with square strips, and similar pilasters adorn the corners of the main volume of the building. Here, the vertical row of strips is complemented by semicircular columns with 'grabs'. Above the pilasters are semicircular kokoshniks. The cornice of the building is made of a finely broken profile and a dry cracker belt. This motif is repeated in the design of the inter-tier cornice. The walls at the entrance portal are divided into tiers by horizontal belts and decorated with vertical stripes. The lower part of the walls is decorated with protruding square elements.
The window openings of the western narthex and altar apse have columnar frames topped with paired semicircular kokoshniks. The three-centered arch of the entrance to the narthex is decorated with a dry cracker belt.
In the 1930s, the light octagonal drum with the church dome and the drum with the altar dome, as well as the triangular pediments of the western and northern portals, were demolished. In the 1960s-1970s, the building was expanded with several extensions and new openings were made in the walls. The northern portal is adorned with a three-centered arch on bundles of semi-columns, while the western portal features paired semi-columns. The walls and vaults of the building are made of brick, the roof is sloped and covered with metal.
Restoration work has not been carried out. In 1995, architects Blokhin A.F., Shumov K.Yu., and Khristyuk-Gribanova O. developed a sketch project for restoration, which is kept at LLC 'Krasnoyarskarchproject'.
